Last Minute Christmas Party Decor + Tips

1) Less is More

Choose décor items (ex: vases with flowers/feathers/herbs, etc.) with the theme of said gathering and spread them out to give a cohesive look throughout the house.

TIP: You can invest – if you don’t have them already – in small glass vases that then you can repurpose for different occasions.

*Make sure not to clutter tables or areas where people will be sitting with decorations, since they will need surface to place their drinks/food!

2) Keep it Simple

If you are feeding a big group (in my case if the number exceeds 8 people…), golden plastic dinnerware elevates the look of it and makes it a tad more sophisticated.

3) Food Station

Continuing in the big crowd train, creating a food “station” buffet style helps to keep the food (and traffic) in one spot and away from the sitting/socializing areas. Maybe your kitchen counter or a table set on an open area will do, freeing the rest of the house for siting and eating.

Adding the food name/description will add a touch of refinement and will help to give heads up for people with allergies too. For this, you can easily use regular paper and a computer (they have beautiful fancy fonts) or if you have a nice handwriting, even more personal.

4) Keep it Clean

Place pop up trash cans strategically around the house to avoid one overflowing spot or finding trash in not desired spots later...

5) Make your own drinks

If you are planning in having a bar area, pre-cut fruits are a game changer! Have all the ingredients ready and set out so people can create their own drinks.

6) Snack and Chat

If you have a big group, place snack groupings all around the house – this will keep people from crowding in one spot.
